Michael Jackson Tribute

I was on the youtube.com homepage and saw this video. Its a Michael Jackson tribute song, "Better on the Other Side." I like it. Give it a listen. The Game, Usher, P Diddy, Chris Brown, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans and Boys II Men collaborate for this new song.

Here are the Lyrics:
[Diddy talking]
I remember the first time i seen you moonwalk,
I believed I could do anything,
you made the world dance,
you made the music come to life

[Chris brown - Chorus]
This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gon let you go,

[The Game]
Whos Michael Jackson,
Your Michael Jackson,
Im Michael Jackson,
We all Michael Jackson,
I guess what Im asking is everybody bow their head for a legend dont breathe for a second,
now let the air out, grab the hand of somebody you care about,
so you can hear my message, my confession,
someone tell Usher, i seen the moonwalk, i guess the young thriller touched him, like he touched me, like he touched you,
so carry on his legacy, something i must do, so i trust you lighting candles, concrete visuals, me and my brothers listen to jackson 5 in the living room,
first thing i did when i heard was call puff,
cos him and Mike tried to stop the beef between us,
who was us? Me and fifty, that beef is dead, him and Mike Jackson gonna take us to the ledge.

[Chorus]

As Im pouring out this liquor candles start to flicker,
when list (?) my air ones, MJ was my nier.
Not the one that play ball, the one with the hollywood star,
and since im a hollywood star imma tell you my story,

never had a family that close, never see Barry Gordy walking through interscope,
just like me they always had Mike in a scope,
no matter what you say,
imma love him and hes still dope,
let me take you back to 85 when i was in a zone, dancing for my momma thriller jacket with all the zippers on,
now im doing 90 bout to crash in this Aston,
listening to Outcast, Im sorry Mrs Jackson
anything i can ever do to better you your son was our king so we wont Corretta you,
Im writing this letter to all the Jackson kids, we all Jackson kids, time to let us through.

[Chorus]

[Boys II Men]
This the kind of song that make the angels cry,
look up in the sky and ask God, why o why why
Do we live and let die
This the kind of song that make the angels cry,
look up in the sky and ask God, why o why why
Do we live and let, live and let die.

[End]

50 cent also paid tribute to MJ, but this song is a lot better, I must say.

Looking at CNN again last night and just learned that a Yemeni airliner has crashed into the Indian Ocean. Apparently 150 people were aboard. All of these plane crashes are scaring me. :(

One of my Favorite Movies Ever

How to Marry a Millionaire starring Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Lauren Bacall. Here is the movie trailer:

I was trying to find a clip but I couldn't find any. :( I recommend everyone to see this movie. I absolutely love it. I made my brother watch it 2 nights ago. He actually liked it. Its a romantic comedy. Its pretty funny. My second favorite Marilyn Monroe movie is Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. That was the first movie I had ever seen of her's and I love it.

I think I might begin to post one of my favorite movies weekly. Yes, we'll make it Favorite Movie Mondays. :)

Judgments and No Faith

So I was just looking at some of my friends facebook pages and stumbled on some crazy things.

Firstly, about Michael Jackson. People accusing Michael of molesting children still and everything after he's dead. Respect the dead. Seriously, people. Why don't people just leave people alone? Especially after he can't even defend himself anymore. What's the point? Ugh. I don't like these kinds of people. Just listen to his song, "Leave me Alone."

Secondly, Obama's Climate Bill. Its already passed the House and we're just waiting on the Senate to pass it. I obviously haven't read the 1000+ pages of the bill, but I do support it. I'm all for Clean Energy and creating more clean jobs. Yes, most likely miners will be losing their jobs. But why don't miners look at it as this bill will be creating more and more jobs that are clean and better for the environment? I thought it was more of a win-win situation. Earth=win, Americans=win. I wish people would try and look at every angle of a bill before they trash it. Try to look at all the opportunities we'll have for growth, not decline. I think the pros outweigh the cons on this bill. I would hope people will try to be more supportive of Obama and attempt to have a little faith.

By the way, did you see those 2 full beautiful rainbows the other night!? They were pretty cool, I think. I also saw the movie, The International, it was pretty intense. I liked it, love Clive Owen so that was a bonus. I've been watching Michael Jackson videos a lot lately, its been fun. I think its sad how much we show our love for someone after they have died. It seems like we show them that we love them more after the fact. I'm sure its a great feeling to be remembered like this, though.

I just read on CNN.com that Billy Mays has died. He died in his sleep last night, an autopsy will be performed. He was on a flight where the airplane's tire blew out and hurt his head, so that may have led to his death. RIP Billy Mays. For those of you who don't know who he is, he's the spokesman for OxiClean. A Mix of things

So I'm listening to BBC Radio and I am laughing so hard! I'm listening to BBC Radio 4 FM and its this comedy show. They are so funny! You should really give it a listen! I used to listen to it in my car but Utah now doesn't have it anymore. :( But I did find this widget, and I absolutely love it! They have several different radio stations you can listen to. I love the World Service--its all news mostly. But I have a new found love for this Radio 4 FM. One of the jokes, "Iran doesn't call Britain, Britain; they call it Little Satan. Britain is Little Satan and the U.S. is Big Satan. 'Hey Big Satan, can you help us?' 'Yes, we can!' (Obama's voice)." It was pretty hilarious. I guess you just have to listen, but I thought I'd share a little of that.

I am pretty excited because I just booked my Las Vegas reservation! I'm going for my 21st birthday which is July 8! But we are going to Vegas July 17, 18, and 19. I wanted to see Criss Angel's Believe Show while we're there but turns out he won't be performing that weekend, so we'll just have to go back before December! I do get to see the White Lions, Tigers, Dolphins, and Sharks though! You know I'm an animal person. So I'm excited. I also found this place at Zions where you go horsebackriding and you get to see Buffalo! I really want to do that. I don't know if we'll get to this vacation. But I'm determined to go do it someday soon.

I'm still very sad about Michael and Farrah. Its so crazy.

I'd like to add I'm very interested in this Iran Election scandal. I really hope that Admadinejad will not be the next President. I hope that all these rallies and protests won't be for nothing. Stand with Free Iran! My sister has a lot more information about the fight on her blog, here.

"The kid is not my son.."

I was pretty shocked today when I got the text message that Michael Jackson had died. I wasn't nearly as shocked as I was when I got the news about Heath Ledger. But I'm still in some disbelief. Its so crazy that he is gone. He was awesome. Yes, he was eccentric, but I liked that about him. I loved his music and his dancing was amazing, of course.
I learned this news at work today and was spreading the word about Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. Some of the reactions I encountered were interesting. People are pretty judgmental. One coworker had said that his death was "probably because of all that plastic surgery and bleaching his skin." Who knows? You don't know. If I had a skin disease that caused my skin to go pale white and in streaks and patches, I would probably want to fix my face. Maybe I'm a little superficial but when he's been in the limelight for so long where people are already judging him, what's the big problem? I do like that Michael has maintained his children's anonymity so well.
I remember when I first learned who Michael Jackson was. I remember watching the 'Thriller' video over and over again dancing to it. I remember watching old footage of the Jackson 5 when I was young. I thought he was so cool. I always tried to do his one dancing move where he'd spin without lifting his feet at all. I was also Michael Jackson for Halloween once. I'm upset that I won't be able to see him in concert. I was excited for that. Rest in Peace Michael.
Here is a Tribute Video made for his 47th birthday:

I didn't know about Farrah as much. I just know about the "Farrah Fawcett Hair Era" and Charlie's Angels. I think its sad that she died but she really fought the cancer for so long. But I'm glad she doesn't have to battle it anymore. Rest in Peace Farrah.

Wedding and Babies

Aloha. So I went to Jen's Wedding on Friday with my friend, Cheri. It was fun. Jen looked really beautiful with her dress, hair, and jewelry. Congrats Jen! :) Here are some pictures I took, they aren't very good though cos I didn't want to keep flashing lights everywhere.

This morning, I was fixing my yummy french toast bagel and mandarin oranges--they were delicious! I heard a noise that sounded very much like a bark. So I walk up to the front window and I look outside and what did I see? Baby quails! They were so cute! It took a lot of effort to get some pictures of them. They kept running away with their incredibly protective parents. Here are some pictures. The pretty adult quail with the dark head is the Papa. The ugly brown one is the Mama. Enjoy! :)

Quick Update

So I was asked to write a new post, so I'm going to try before I go to work. I've really been meaning to but I've just been busy working, shopping, and watching the awesome Lakers. They won last night! That means they only have one more win to go and they will be the Champions! We want another ring! Both teams played very well. I was excited to see one of my favorite players, Derek Fisher, make that 3 pointer to tie the game and head into overtime. He is known for being such a clutch 3 pointer guy. He is awesome. It was like going back to the old team in 2000(ish).

On Sunday, all of our big family went out to dinner for my Grandma Jean's birthday. That was fun. I hope she liked our present (clip-on earrings.) I'd like to recommend not going to Golden Corral though. I didn't like that place. Not at all.

The other day I went shopping with Cheri to buy our friend, Jen some Wedding gifts. That was really fun. I'm excited. Jen's reception is tonight and so is my other friend's RaShea. So I am looking forward to that. I haven't seen them for quite a long time.

Tuesday night, I went out and hung out with an old friend, Jessica. Whitney was also supposed to come but that's a long story. Jessica and I had a lot of fun at Chili's. She has the cutest little boy too.

I'd also like to confess I bought some Hudson jeans and Seven for All Mankind Jeans. I love them.a.lot. I've been buying me some stuff lately which is awesome. I'm just telling myself its for my birthday and I'm trying to not spend anymore money until my actual birthday.

Well, I have to go to work now. Have a great Friday! And have an amazing weekend! :) I have been liking this weather instead of the hot sun though. I just didn't like driving in the pouring rain the other day, I felt like I was driving in a car wash!
